How to Appreciate Your Employees on Employee Appreciation Day

Every good business owner knows that any business will sink without a dedicated and motivated staff. Many employees leave their jobs because they are unsatisfied in some way, but data shows that 50% of employees would stay in their position if they were given more recognition. Here are a couple of tips and tricks to help show your staff how much you appreciate them!First, start marking Employee Appreciation Day down on your calendar. In 2019, Employee Appreciation Day will be held on March 1st. Employee Appreciation regularly falls on the first Friday of every March. There are many ways you can celebrate this faux-holiday to show your employees you are thinking of them. An obvious choice would be to have a half-day on Employee Appreciation Day or close the office entirely if possible. Employees would be grateful for the unexpected three-day weekend!

Declare the day a casual-wear day and let employees wear comfortable clothing – or even pajamas if you want to go all out! Give out a few shirts to your staff members or other pieces of apparel.

Another way to show appreciation is to let your employees be the face of your business on social media. Your staff are likely the people that interact the most often with your customers and going public with your appreciation on social media will show customers your business’s values and morals. Try making a post calling out the good work of a particular employee (with their permission of course) and posting it on your social media channels at least once a week.
