How to Make the Most Out of Your Instagram Photos for PA Businesses

August 25, 2021

Lacking in the likes department? Wondering why your burger photograph looks good, but not as good as posts by foodies? Well, we’re here to help. Here are four ways you can really spice up your Instagram feed.

Hashtags

It’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think about Instagram, maybe even social media in general! First, you need to choose a large-usage hashtag — one that’s been used a lot by other people. Hashtags like #yum, #cute, and #gourmet are HUGE hashtags that get used a ton. However, if you use super-specific hashtags, such as #burgerwithpicklesandasideoffries or #comeovertotonysandenjoy, they won’t work because those have very low to no engagement and won’t reach nearly as many people as you want.

Lighting

When taking a photo for Instagram, you have to make sure your space is well lit, highlighting the object or space you’re trying to promote. If it’s food, you can take the photo outdoors, in someone’s hands, or (if you want to be a bit professional) using a ring light! If it’s your dining space, make sure the lights are on or that there is enough natural light to fill the entire room.

Presentation

This is mostly for food. How you serve your food/drinks reflects on the atmosphere of your restaurant/bar. Most places want their food and drinks to look neat, with the sides on the side, and ketchup in a big Heinz bottle next to it all. What you want is up to you. Make it the way you always have, while displaying what your establishment represents.

Consistency

Posting on social media is a task! You need to engage consistently while also pushing out quality posts. The sweet spot would be two to three times a week, highlighting a special, Friday night deals, or even your brand-new pool table. Whatever it is, make sure it’s a quality post, highlights the subject at hand, and is exciting!

These are just a few of the ways you can maximize your engagement on your social media platforms. Let’s get your location online!
