Video gaming is now legal and live in the City of Chicago. Qualifying bars, restaurants, fraternal and veteran organizations, and truck stops can apply to offer video gaming terminals (VGTs), often called slot machines, to customers 21 and older. Applications for video gaming terminals (VGTs) are now being accepted by the Illinois Gaming Board, marking a major step forward for businesses in Chicago. This begins the rollout of video gaming in the city, aligning Chicago with the rest of Illinois, where regulated gaming has been in place for more than a decade.
