North Carolina Video Lottery Terminal Market

North Carolina is currently considering legislation to allow video lottery terminals (“VLTs") in licensed establishments. Should the State approve regulated VLTs, you'll want to be prepared to take advantage. There's no better way to prepare than partnering with Accel Entertainment.

Since no proposed bill has become a law, it is difficult to know exactly which types of establishments will qualify to have VLTs. Additionally, we do not know for sure how many VLTs each establishment will be permitted to have. In Illinois, establishments such as bars, restaurants, convenience stores, and truck stops are allowed up to six VLTs, with the exception of large truck stops, which are allowed up to 10.

PROPOSED ELIGIBLE ESTABLISHMENT TYPES:

POTENTIAL GAMING REVENUE SHARE*

Should the State approve regulated VLTs, they must also determine how the revenue share will be distributed between all parties. For example, Illinois' retail revenue share is 33%, assuming 6 machines per location, a location can expect to make between $36,135 - $144,540 per year in additional revenue from gaming.
